Contributing

How to improve the protocol, schemas, bindings, and conformance suite.

Ways to contribute

Useful contributions include implementation reports, ambiguous-language findings, security analysis, conformance vectors, new bindings, compatibility data, and focused editorial improvements.

Query Enhancement Proposals

Substantive changes use a Query Enhancement Proposal (QEP). A QEP states its motivation, affected roles, normative behavior, security and privacy impact, compatibility plan, and conformance tests. Editorial corrections may use an ordinary pull request.

Acceptance

A standards-track QEP must demonstrate at least two independent implementation paths or a credible compatibility plan, include conformance tests, and receive maintainer approval. Breaking changes enter a new dated protocol version.

Code of conduct

Participation must remain respectful, technically grounded, and vendor-neutral. Security reports should be disclosed privately before public discussion.
